Having an online store can change the way you make money at home. If you have a secure server, you will be able to keep a lot of information confidential and allow your customers to even give you their charging and living information at all. If you have a great website with a lot of information, you can turn yourself into a credible source, and therefore allow your customers to trust you. If you have a well-designed website that has lot of this good information, and if you market your website, goods, services, and business well enough, then you can have many more visitors.

Change Your Site

Turning those visitors into buyers, however, is another story. You may have a hard time making the conversion happen if you are selling hard-to-sell or expensive items. However, you can still allow for good conversion if you know how to market your wares.

First, offer incentives for buying. Everyone loves free stuff, whether it’s a free e-book or a free item mailed to them. If someone finds your site and sees that it’s all about selling, then all you have is a visitor who wants something, but who might leave because you don’t care about what he or she thinks. Instead of just selling, learn to know what your customers want. One way is to offer something in exchange for buying items.

Second, think about samples. You don’t have to turn your site into a freebie paradise but you can certainly come close enough. How about sample candles for your arts and crafts site? Or sample books for your online bookstore? Find a way to introduce other products to your customers, and offer these samples with a minimum purchase from your site. This way, you can allow customers to try out a product. Who knows, if they like the product, they may end up buying it!

Keep Changing Your Site!

Always update your site. Have a lot of news and updates in your product line, and keep in touch with your customers about these updates. You may want to have a mailing list or a forum and message boards. This way, you can easily get in touch with your customers, and you can allow your clients to offer their feedback. Remember, if people know that you care about them, then they will show you how they care about your products.
