Can You Do Affiliate Marketing Without Your Own Website?
I say you can. You don't have to spend money for your own site just to earn income from affiliate marketing. Even without your own website, you can participate in affiliate marketing. Here's how:
Set up a free website account.
You don't need to own your own website but you will still need one. There are several online sites that let you have your own web pages and URL without charging you for anything. Squidoo, for example, lets you maintain your own web page (called lens) for free.
Blogging sites such as Wordpress.com and Blogger.com also let you do the same. Just a few clicks and some information from your end and you're ready to go.
Be ready with useful content.
Affiliate marketing is essentially the process of promoting products for other people. In exchange for your efforts, you get paid a commission. A site that has nothing but a bunch of affiliate ads won't do anything for your wallet. You need to be able to provide good content.
There are two reasons why: 1) you need to drive traffic to your site using content and 2) your affiliate companies will require you to have a site that has content.
Promoting affiliate products
Now the real work begins. Once your free site is set up, you will have to begin working on boosting advertisement and traffic to your site. Use content that are relevant to your affiliate products, write related reviews or articles and build links to established sites.
You might also want to build more buzz by submitting articles with links to databases. This is to increase your chances of appearing on search engines which is some sort of online seal of approval. If people find you there, they're more likely to trust you, go to your website and click on your affiliate ads. And that's how you earn money on affiliate marketing.
